Winter Nature Trail.

The Little Adventurer had a fun winter nature trail this week, he visited his favourite park and had a play on the swings and climbing equipment before heading off to explore and gather nature treasures.

The Little Adventure dived straight in and bravely explored a wooded area full of mud, puddles, broken branches, old leaves and the odd animal. He enthusiastically ran over to investigate a fallen tree in more detail and found a great stick and a stone for our treasure basket.

Then The Little Adventurer noticed that there was a tree with some beautiful blossom starting to grow, he said "ooooh, pretty" and had a closer look and a smell of the blossom, we snipped a little to add to our treasure basket. While The Little Adventurer inspected the blossom twigs he spied leaves, and if you know The Little Adventurer, You're not leaving anywhere without picking up those leaves, so, into the treasure basket they went

The Little adventure continued walking past the park and towards where the duck ducks are, he saw lots of ducks, which happen to be his favourite so he told them "quack quack" as we had no food to feed them this time, The Adventurer in Training forgot to bring it. A very exciting sight we did see though, lots and lots of herons, The Little Adventurer usually only finds a single heron however on the nature trail, he stumbled into what might be their nesting ground, we carefully walked past the, as to not disturb them too much. The Little Adventurer found a feather, tree bark and some pine cones for his treasure basket as we walked on by.

The Little adventurer made his way up a huge and steep hill where he found some flowers, he picked two daisies and a dandelion to add to his treasure basket.

The Little Adventurers final stop off in the nature trail was the smaller duck pond with a bridge where he stopped to watch the ducks and coots paddling along, this is where The Little Adventure discovered a pile of logs from a few trees that had been cut down, of course we couldn't leave without it so into the rather large treasure basket that went too.

What a very successful winter nature trail, with a lovely bursting treasure basket to use for a rainy day picture or crafts.
