Dinosaur Week.

This week the little adventurer has been busy exploring dinosaurs, dinosaurs happens to be his favourite thing right now, like most little ones.

The little adventurer has been learning about how some species of dinosaurs lay eggs in nests similarly to birds. He’s learned about fossils and how a palaeontologist digs very carefully to excavate dinosaur remains from dirt and rock, he even excavated his own kit which contained 3 real fossils (a tooth, a bone piece and a poop) The adventurer in training created a fantastic small world play with a working volcano for the little adventurer to watch erupt lava, just using the simple bicarbonate of soda and vinegar experiment. the little adventurer has had several exciting messy play experiences with his dinosaurs, some trapped in ice and gelli slime, some in need of wash after covered in gelli baff and he even tracked dinosaur oobleck footprints! The little adventurer has also had some quiet time play using a tinker tray full of rainbow colours of dinosaurs and an invitation to learn and colour a dinosaur!

You might think he’s all dinosaured out, but no, he’s not, he absolutely loves them, the adventurer in training suspects he might grow up to become a palaeontologist on day.

During dinosaur week the little adventurer has been given activities that has helped him work on his fine motor skills, gross motor skills, all aspects of P.I.E.S., cognitive development, vocabulary development and so much more! The little adventurer thrives on these simple yet creative play activities, we hope it inspires your play and we’d love to hear from you and see all your wonderful play ideas! Why not follow us?
