Now you’re 2!
Two years have completely flown by, people always say enjoy every moment it goes by in the blink of an eye! Now more than ever I understand that phrase!
it seems like yesterday that we were being induced to welcome you into the world, 14 and half hours later and an emergency C-Section you were born! I remember my first words as you were delivered, I asked the surgeon why you weren’t crying, panic set it as I looked frantically at people that were surrounding me (it’s overwhelming how many people you have during a C-Section) Finally the assistant surgeon (who missed the World Cup staying extra for us, thank you and sorry again) came over and said to me “well done mummy, he’s beautiful“ that gave me instant relief! Thank goodness he’s ok!! After a bit of faffing you were shown to me, I couldn’t hold you as I was hooked up still, but I still remember your smushy face! We were taken to the recover room where I was finally given you to lay on my chest, it’s a strange session not being able to move, sit up or anything after a C-Section, but laying there watching you snooze on me was the best half hour.

We brought you home and then reality set in! You’re here, we’re parents, now what? (We’re still learning)
Just like that 2 whole years have gone! How are you 2? I keep asking! How? How are you 2? You’re just a baby! The truth is you’re not a baby anymore, you’re such an incredible little boy! You are so independent it’s scary, you tackle everything in your stride and accomplish so much, you really do make me so very proud everyday!
The little boy I see before me is the most kindest, compassionate, polite, brave, intelligent and adventurous I’ve ever known! How are you mine? You’re so funny you definitely have daddy’s humour (and ears!)
Everyone says when you’re older you’re going to be an explorer or a palaeontologist. I quite agree, you’re dinosaur mad, although I love it, it’s a fascinating subject! Whatever you decided to be when you’re older, know that you’ll always have my support I will be your number 1 cheerleader as long as I’m breathing!
But, and it’s a big but, please can you stop growing? I know you can’t, and pretty soon you’ll outgrow my arms, although you will never outgrow my heart! I may not get it right all the time but I try my hardest everyday, learning and adjusting to be a better mummy for you.
Happy 2nd year little one! You gave me a purpose and I will continue to help you grow into the gentleman you are! Forever My bunny and always my little dinosaur!
Love you to the moon and back again xxxx
