We love Easter, a time to be together, family bonding and making memories! I wanted to share with you some easy activities that we love to do together!
Easter bonnet decorating - this is always such a lovely activity to do together or sit and what over a hot cross bun! All you need is a bonnet or old hat, some Easter craft items like eggs or chicks and felt pieces and glue! The kids love to make them! Little is at an age now where he can fully create his bonnet himself and I think he did an awesome job! You could even take part in a local bonnet parade too!
2. Egg decorating - we actually attempted this for the first time this year and it was so fun!! Little absolutely enjoyed painting his eggs! What do you need? Eggs - boiled, poster paint and if you want to be a bit extra like us, some felt pieces and googly eyes! (Our fab egg kit was from Sainsbury’s last year, thanks nanna)
3.Easter cards - easy peasy! You can make them from scratch, use a kit (like we did) you can make them simple or as fancy as you’d like! We have posted ours out to family and friends. Little loved colouring and writing them out all by himself!
4.Baking Easter treats! Of course we had to feature baking!! It’s Easter after all! You can make this so easy by making chocolate nests, we opted for cornflakes (we don’t like shredded wheat although this makes a better looking nest) melt your chocolate, add to cornflakes, pop into cake cases and top with chocolate eggs before setting in the fridge! We also made some chunky mini egg cookies - recipe from janes patisserie and it’s the best!
5. Finally the egg hunt! Little always looks forward to an egg hunt (we don’t use chocolate eggs) we opt for plastic eggs and hide them around the garden! You could take them to the woods and hide them there (take a picnic too) or hide them around your home! Bonus activity you can add things inside the plastic eggs like math sums, phonics, a word to spell or a clue to the next egg! Who doesn’t love some sneaky learning thrown into a fun activity.
We hope you have a hopping great Easter together! Enjoy making memories wether it’s chocolate free or chocolate loaded! Take a minute to just be present together!
